Typography

Typography is simply the design of typefaces as a means of visual communication. Typography encompasses everything from hand written calligraphy through digital type in applications such as Photoshop and Illustrator as well as type on Web pages. For our purposes, you will need to move beyond just the selection of typefaces, point size, and color. For this lesson we will be learning a bit more about the parts of a typeface and we will begin to explore how and when to adjust leading, tracking and kearning.
