This unit introduces students to the Art of Giuseppe Arcimboldo, a 14^th century painter who combined fruits, vegetables and other natural items to create surrealistic faces. The students will start by watching a series of teacher produced video tutorials. The tutorials will introduce them to a variety of introductory selecting, layering and blending and photo manipulation techniques in Photoshop. The students will follow along with the tutorial to create a practice vegetable head. The students will apply what they have learned by creating an original vegetable head of their own by using the techniques used in the videos.
